The Civil Air Patrol Chaplain Corps College's Flight Chaplain Course is an opportunity to educate and prepare the chaplaincy of the Civil Air Patrol with skills needed to minister while serving as a crewmember in aviation or sUAS operations in CAP. The course will also discuss and prepare Auxiliary Chaplain support to DOD aviation resources.
The "Flight Chaplain" is not a specific rating or aviation crew billet. The prerequisites for the course include a CAP aviation or sUAS rating, or to be in the training pipeline for such a rating. The other requirement is at least one year of service as a chaplain in CAP.
The course is four classroom periods of two hours each plus reading and outside preparation and assignments.

Advanced Chaplain Corps Training
Wing Chaplain Course (WCC)
This course prepares Chaplains and Character Development Instructors (CDI) for leadership at the wing level, specifically as part of the Wing Commander's staff as a wing chaplain, wing chaplain corps coordinator, or wing charter development instructor. Chaplain Corps personnel serve the commander as an advisor on spiritual needs, religious requirements, wellness and resiliency, and ethical issues as they impact the mission, quality of life, and the First Amendment rights of CAP members. This course is a requirement for the senior specialty rating for Chaplain and CDI professional tracks. The class meets weekly virtually, with students completing assigned readings, research papers, and quizzes.
